Hi, I’m Joe Carter, a BAFTA-nominated filmmaker and wedding videographer based in Edinburgh. I live in Musselburgh, East Lothian, with my partner, our 11-year-old daughter, and a lively household that includes two Ragdoll cats and our energetic border collie, Pip—who’s as wild as she is beautiful, much like all the best things in life!

When I’m not filming and editing weddings, you’ll usually find me walking Pip, vacuuming endless amounts of pet hair, or reminding my daughter (every two minutes) to take a break from TikTok! Outside of weddings, I also indulge my passion for storytelling by writing and directing comedy sitcoms and short films.

As a wedding videographer, I’m deeply passionate about capturing the magic of each couple’s big day. With over 15 years of experience, I’ve developed a documentary-style approach that allows me to blend seamlessly into the background, capturing real, candid moments without being noticed. Whether it’s a couple’s first dance or an emotional exchange of vows, I thrive on making sure those memories are preserved in stunning detail.

I’m a self-confessed camera geek and cinephile, which means I love working with high-quality footage—whether it’s on a wedding day or during one of my dramatic short films. My work as a videographer is not just a job but a creative outlet where I can bring a cinematic touch to every moment I capture.

Laidback and friendly, I enjoy meeting new people and thrive in the vibrant, celebratory atmosphere of weddings. There’s nothing more rewarding than delivering a finished film and hearing how much it means to the couple—it’s an incredible feeling of pride and joy that drives me every day.
