Winter Wedding at Cairns Farm – Capturing Melissa & Christon’s Day

As a wedding videographer in Edinburgh, I get to film weddings in some incredible locations, and Cairns Farm Estate in November was no exception. Melissa and Christon’s winter wedding had a crisp, atmospheric feel, with the rolling Pentland Hills providing the perfect backdrop. The low autumn light and frosty air added a natural, cinematic quality to their day—ideal for capturing timeless footage. The venue was beautifully styled with seasonal flowers, and subtle festive touches that suited the time of year without feeling overdone. From the morning preparations through to the first dance, everything had an effortless flow. Melissa and Christon’s ceremony was personal and relaxed, and their outdoor couple’s shoot took full advantage of snowy backdrop. As the evening set in, guests gathered inside for speeches, music, and plenty of celebrations. Shooting in low light can be a challenge, but the warm glow of the venue and the energy of the night made for some great moments on film. If you’re planning a wedding in Edinburgh or the surrounding areas a winter wedding at Cairns Farm is well worth considering. And if you need a wedding videographer to capture it all, I’d love to hear from you.
