Andy & Annie // John Muirs Tipi’s WEdding
If you're looking for a wedding videographer in East Lothian, I recently had the chance to film Andy and Annie's incredible wedding at John Muir’s Tipis. Their day, playfully dubbed "Glassstonbury" in honour of their surname, perfectly combined rustic charm with the beauty of the Scottish countryside. The wide, open skies and the natural surroundings made for a stunning backdrop. Capturing the heartfelt moments, from their vows to the lively reception, was a privilege—especially with some fantastic drone footage showcasing the venue from above.
John Muir’s Tipis is truly a special place for couples planning a wedding in East Lothian. The setting, surrounded by rolling hills and even a few alpacas, offers a unique blend of outdoor beauty and a cosy, intimate atmosphere inside the tipis. It's an ideal spot for a relaxed yet memorable celebration, and as a videographer, the open layout allowed me to capture everything, from sweeping drone shots to the intimate laughter shared among family and friends.
Andy and Annie's wedding was filled with love and joy, and capturing those moments is what I aim to do for every couple. With years of experience filming at some of the best wedding venues in East Lothian, I create films that allow you to relive every special moment. If you're planning a wedding and want to capture it as beautifully as Andy and Annie's day at John Muir’s Tipis, feel free to reach out! I'd love to help you preserve those memories.
Trini & ADam at the BYRE at INCHYRA
The Byre at Inchyra is an exceptional wedding venue nestled in the heart of Perthshire and easily one of my favourite venues in the whole of Scotland, offering a breathtaking backdrop for wedding videography. This rustic yet elegant venue combines the charm of a traditional Scottish barn with the sophistication of modern amenities, making it an ideal choice for capturing unforgettable wedding memories. As a wedding videographer, the natural beauty and versatility of The Byre at Inchyra provide countless opportunities to create stunning visual stories that couples will cherish forever. There are so many acres of grounds to explore and the rustic, rural charm of the place makes my job really easy! The walled garden is one of my favouirte parts of the estate to take couples.
Trini and Adam's wedding at The Byre at Inchyra was nothing short of magical. From the moment I arrived, their energy and excitement were infectious, making the day an absolute joy to film. Trini grew up just 40 minutes up the road from me in Lancashire and as a result I was loving th familiar accents on the wedding day! The couple's love for each other was evident in every glance and smile, and their fun and humour shone through in every shot. The Byre's scenic surroundings, combined with the couple's vibrant chemistry, created a perfect blend of romance and fun that translated beautifully into their wedding video.
For wedding videographers in Perthshire, The Byre at Inchyra offers an unparalleled setting. Whether capturing the intimate moments in the cozy, candlelit spaces or the lively celebrations in the expansive courtyard, this venue provides a stunning canvas for storytelling. Trini and Adam's wedding was a testament to how much joy and creativity this venue can inspire, making it a top choice for couples and videographers alike.
The biscuit factory- a wedding videography hipster dream!
A couple of months ago I had the immense pleasure of filming a wedding at the Biscuit Facory in Leith - a venue I have long been familiar with and been to various events there but had never had the pleasure of shooting there - until now!
The Biscuit Factory in Edinburgh is an exceptional venue for alternative weddings, offering a unique blend of industrial charm and artistic flair. This former Victorian biscuit factory has been transformed into a cool contemporary space, maintaining its original character while incorporating modern amenities. The raw, exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and large windows allow for an abundance of natural light - especially in the mamazing ceremony room at the very top of the building creating a stunning backdrop that is perfect for capturing beautiful, atmospheric wedding videos. The venue's distinct aesthetic provides a canvas for creativity, making it a dream come true for videographerslike myelf looking to produce visually captivating content.
One of the standout features of The Biscuit Factory is its spacious and flexible layout. With multiple rooms and open areas, videographers have the freedom to explore different angles and perspectives. The variety of spaces also allows for a seamless transition between different parts of the wedding, from the ceremony to the reception, without the need to relocate. This continuity not only makes the day flow smoothly for the couple and their guests but also enhances the storytelling aspect of the wedding video, creating a cohesive and engaging narrative.
In addition to its physical attributes, The Biscuit Factory's commitment to supporting artistic expression makes it an ideal venue for couples seeking an alternative wedding experience. The venue regularly hosts art exhibitions, performances, and creative events, fostering a vibrant and inspiring atmosphere. This artistic energy translates beautifully into wedding celebrations, offering countless opportunities for videographers to capture moments that are both authentic and visually striking.

BORTHWICK CASTLE WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHY
Borthwick Castle stands as a timeless symbol of Scotland's rich history and architectural splendor. Dating back to the 15th century, this majestic fortress has witnessed centuries of intrigue, romance, and royalty. Originally built by Sir William Borthwick, it served as a stronghold for the powerful Borthwick family during a tumultuous period in Scottish history.
Over the centuries, Borthwick Castle has played host to many notable figures, including Mary, Queen of Scots, who sought refuge within its walls on more than one occasion. Its imposing battlements and sturdy stone walls have weathered wars, sieges, and political upheavals, yet they have retained their majestic allure through the ages.
Today, Borthwick Castle stands as a beautifully preserved historic landmark and exclusive venue for weddings and events. Its rich heritage is evident in every corner, from the grand halls adorned with tapestries to the cozy chambers with their ancient fireplaces. Stepping into Borthwick Castle is like stepping back in time, where the echoes of Scotland's storied past resonate in every stone.
As a wedding videographer at Borthwick Castle, you're in for a treat of stunning backdrops and timeless elegance. Nestled in the Scottish countryside, this historic venue provides the perfect canvas for capturing unforgettable moments. From the grandeur of its chambers to the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, every frame tells a story of love and celebration in a setting that exudes charm and sophistication. Working here isn't just about documenting weddings—it's about being inspired by the rich history and regal atmosphere, creating videos that resonate with authenticity and beauty. Borthwick Castle offers a unique opportunity for wedding videographers to showcase their craft amidst a backdrop of romance and grandeur.
Last month was my first time working at this magical venue. The staff are so lovely and the grounds are amazing for a wedding videographer - so much choice - even on a blustery day like this one!
I definitely did my 10,000 steps going up and down the steep stone staircases but it was worth it - the venue is so beautiful and completely unspoilt - a hot favourite of mine already and I can’t wait to go back!
Here is the highlights film from the wedding of Katrina and Alex from last month.
CARBERRY TOWER WEDDINGS
What do I love most about filming weddings at Carberry Tower, I hear you ask? Is it the fact that I live only ten minutes away in Musselburgh so it is easy for me to get to? NO! That would be a selfish reason! What I do love is the historic grounds and amazing building - all of which are open to wedding guests to explore. I often walk my dog around the magical Carberry Hill - there is something special and timeless about the woods - and a little-known fact is that Carberry Hill is the place where Mary, Queen of Scots surrendered - there is a monument to mark the spot. I find this interesting as everywhere you go in Scotland, there are references to this famous Scottish icon, but for some reason, the site for this momentous occasion is very low-key!
Nestled in the picturesque Scottish countryside, Carberry Tower stands as an ideal venue for wedding videographers seeking stunning backdrops and a rich historical ambiance. Beyond its architectural grandeur, Carberry Tower boasts sprawling gardens, picturesque courtyards, and enchanting woodland trails, offering diverse settings for creative filming. Whether amidst fragrant blooms in the rose garden or beneath ancient trees.
The staff at Carberry are always really lovely to me - I always get well-fed and looked after - which from a selfish/greedy point of view is a big plus!
Ultimately, Carberry Tower isn't just a venue—it's a muse that inspires wedding videographers to craft compelling narratives and preserve precious memories for years to come. Its combination of historical charm and natural beauty makes it a standout choice for couples seeking an unforgettable wedding experience, and for videographers seeking the perfect canvas for their artistry.
